PLASA Skills
PLASA is committed to supporting the industry in developing its wide range of technical skills and creative talents.
We are actively leading the development of qualifications for the industry, with the aim of giving recognition to existing skills, whilst also defining the benchmark for best practice.
We are the only trade association in the sector to be recognised as an Awarding Organisation by the UK Government’s Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) which means that we can work in partnership with our members and the wider industry to develop relevant and meaningful qualifications.
PLASA is using its National Rigging Certificate (NRC) - the first industry-led scheme to give riggers a recognised qualification - as a blueprint for the development of further qualifications for specialists within the industry, as well as working closely with the audio and AV industries on the development of NVQs.
We are an energetic supporter of essential initiatives such as the National Skills Academy and work in partnership with the relevant UK Sector Skills Councils and related bodies worldwide.
