Control - Configure - Communicate

What is Plugfest 2018?
PLASA has collaborated with protocol experts, Hamish Dumbreck of JESE Ltd, Peter Willis of Howard Eaton Lighting and Wayne Howell of Artistic Licence, to present a three-day lighting control protocols Plugfest.

Building on the success of previous RDM Developers Conferences and Plugfests, the event brings together a vast pool of industry knowledge and expertise along with direct access to individuals who have helped create and define many of the communication protocols relevant to the Lighting community.

The purpose is to allow developers of lighting products to test and debug control protocol and product interoperability.

Who should attend?
Developers using DALI, DMX512, RDM, Art-Net and sACN will find the event of particular benefit.

Sessions will be designed for product development engineers, and will also have relevance to Lighting Designers, System Integrators, Theatre Consultants, Production Electricians and Rental company technical staff who wish to keep up to date with the latest trends in system interoperability.

Why participate?
DALI, DMX512, RDM, Art-Net, RDMNet and sACN all present different challenges to testing and verification.

The Plugfest provides access to the latest insights in test and development tools, peer review and a hands-on opportunity for developers and technical staff to trace and debug interoperability issues.

The event will include 'Break-outs' for technical round table sessions, including the forthcoming RDMnet protocol and the recent DALI 2 and device type extensions. A number of new ESTA draft standards are expected to be in Public Review at this time and will be presented in detail.
