The PLASA People Profile Survey Report provides an in-depth analysis of the workforce within the entertainment and events technology sector.

Conducted by PLASA in May and June 2024, with analysis by Purple Market Research, the survey gathered responses from 250 industry professionals, including freelancers, company owners, senior directors, and other staff.

Demographics: The sector is predominantly male and slightly older compared to the overall UK population, whilst ethnic minorities are under-represented.

Employment status: Freelancers or independent professionals constitute 44% of respondents, while the remainder represent a cross-section of roles within various company types and sizes.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI): Most respondents understand the term EDI and feel respected and included within the industry. However, 6% do not feel respected, and 45% feel only somewhat respected.

This report highlights the need for ongoing efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion within the entertainment and events technology sector.
