The cyclists, representing PLASA, PSA, Whitelight, Autograph, UK Rigging, Harman, SFL, Anthem Publishing and Real Marketing Services, have so far raised £1,600 with donations continuing to roll in. All the money is being donated to Back Up – the technical entertainment charity whose dedicated work supports industry professionals in crisis.
Starting out at 6.30am, the cyclists arrived at PLASA Show at 4.30pm with only two pitstops along the way. Everyone involved reported a great sense of camaraderie and are looking forward to doing it all again next year.
“The 100 mile bike ride has been a challenging yet fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness and much appreciated cash for mental health in our industries” says PLASA Managing Director Peter Heath.
“With many of our industry colleagues suffering in silence, it is crucial that associations and companies continue to shed light on this issue, enabling those in need to reach out and ensuring that supportive strategies are in implemented in the workplace.”
