PLASA welcomed members to the Victory Services Club in London on 27th November for this year’s Annual General Meeting, an afternoon designed to share updates from across the Association, explore the issues shaping our sector, and look ahead to the priorities for 2026.
The event once again provided a valuable opportunity for members from across the industry to come together, exchange ideas and speak directly with the PLASA team.
The meeting opened with an overview of PLASA’s current activity, including progress on skills development, ongoing work around sustainability, updates on HR and legislation, and the latest findings from PLASA Research. These reports offered members a clear view of the challenges and opportunities ahead, as well as the initiatives designed to support businesses and individuals across the live events supply chain.
Roger Martin-Fagg
Members then heard from behavioural economist Roger Martin-Fagg, who returned with his much-anticipated post-Budget economic forecast. Roger delivered a grounded and insightful analysis of current market conditions, examining the trends most likely to affect manufacturers, distributors, rental houses and freelancers in the coming year.
The programme continued with a keynote from Gavin Smith, Senior AI Consultant at DataFort, who explored the growing influence of artificial intelligence on business operations. Gavin shared real-world examples of AI in action, outlined the essential principles for starting new projects, and offered a series of low-risk, high-impact ideas that members can begin using to improve efficiency and decision-making.

After the formal session, members enjoyed informal conversations over drinks and canapés, a welcome opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new faces, and discuss the themes raised throughout the afternoon. As always, the social element of the AGM played an important role in bringing the community together.
