The PLASA Sustainability Survey results summarise the findings of an online survey examining awareness, attitudes and actions relating to sustainability and carbon reduction within the entertainment and events technology sector.
Conducted by PLASA in October and November 2025, with independent analysis by Purple Market Research, the survey gathered responses from 105 industry professionals, including both PLASA members and non-members, representing a broad mix of organisation types and sizes.

Progress towards sustainability: Two-thirds of respondents (67%) stated that their organisation is underway or making good progress on sustainability, an increase from 54% in early 2024. However, nearly one third (31%) have not yet begun their sustainability journey.
Priority and confidence: Sustainability is considered a priority by 69% of respondents, although fewer than one third regard it as a high priority. Around 70% feel confident in their understanding of net zero and its implications for their organisation.
Actions taken: Most organisations report taking practical steps such as improving energy efficiency in premises and operations, integrating sustainability into procurement, and assigning responsibility for sustainability. More advanced measures remain less common, with fewer than one quarter having achieved sustainability certification, published emissions reduction targets, or accessed green finance.
Drivers and awareness: Sustainability enquiries are primarily coming from customers and employees, with growing interest from suppliers and other stakeholders. Familiarity is high for basic sustainability concepts, but significantly lower for formal standards, reporting frameworks and certification schemes.
PLASA members: PLASA members consistently demonstrate higher levels of progress, prioritisation and confidence, with 78% stating they are underway or making good progress, compared with 67% overall.
The report highlights clear progress across the sector, while identifying ongoing challenges around formal carbon measurement, target-setting and long-term commitment.
